How will Week 4 shake out in the NFL?
After the Los Angeles Rams kicked off a great Week 4 last night, it’s time to predict some of the other game. Will New England bounce back after a lackluster performance these past few weeks? Can Tampa Bay rediscover their Fitzmagic? Check out our predictions.
Houston Texans vs. Indianapolis Colts
It’s interesting trying to predict this Week 4 matchup because both teams are starting to heat up. Andrew Luck looks more comfortable and his receivers, specifically TY Hilton and Ryan Grant have been reliable. Meanwhile, Houston looked a bit shaky against the New York Giants but Deshaun Watson has begun to settle down. However, considering the Colts have won 8 of their last 12 meetings against the Texans, and they have the home-field advantage than Indianapolis looks like the winner.
Buffalo Bills vs. Green Bay Packers
Don’t count the Bills out yet. After whopping the Vikings last week, Buffalo looks much more confident heading into their game against the Packers. Their defense looked like an entirely new team last week and Josh Allen was clearly the right choice to take over. Sadly, they’re playing the Packers at home in one of the hardest stadiums. The edge clearly goes to Aaron Rodgers, even with the injuries plaguing Green Bay.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Chicago Bears
Is Fitzmagic really over? Week 4 will be a good test for the Tampa Bay offense going up against Khalil Mack and the aggressive Chicago defense. While we do believe Fitzpatrick is the smarter quarterback this year compared to Jameis Winston, this is probably going to be a rough game for Bucs fans to watch. The Bears defense is just too good this year and they will probably make that Bucs offensive line suffer.
Miami Dolphins vs. New England Patriots
The Dolphins have quietly become a solid team these past two years while Tannehill has a reputation for getting the job done. Is it shocking to anyone else that Tannehill actually has better statistics to Brady thus far? Miami’s quarterback has a 73% completion rate, 687 yards, 7 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions. On the other hand, Brady has a 64% completion rate, 644 yards, 6 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions. However, this is a must-win situation for the Patriots. They’ve lost back-to-back games at home by double digits. New England has a minor edge simply because a loss would be heartbreaking for Patriots’ fans in Week 4.
Detroit Lions vs. Dallas Cowboys
Dare we say the Lions actually looked good last week? Amidst rumors that Matt Patricia had lost the locker room but Detroit bounced back against his former team. If the Lions have really pulled together under Patricia’s leadership then the Cowboys are going to run into some trouble. While Dallas has a decent run defense, the Lions could still rely on Matthew Stafford rather than their promising run game.
Cincinnati Bengals vs. Atlanta Falcons
The Bengals’ defense needs to perform better if they want to secure a Week 4 victory. They’re coming off a loss from last week and they’re going up against a team which has secured quite a few offensive weapons. Luckily for the Bengals, the Falcons will not have their star running back Devonta Freeman. However, Tevin Coleman proved last week that he’s more than capable of carrying the extra responsibility. Dan Quinn has said he’s confident in his team and since they are at home it’s probably safe to bet on the Falcons this week.
New York Jets vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Coming from back-to-back losses, the New York Jets have struggled to win games despite rookie standout Sam Darnold. However, the big question is whether the Jets’ offensive line would be able to handle the Jaguars’ defensive line. Jacksonville has a fearsome defense, and when Blake Bortles is hot, he definitely has the ability to light up the offense. Even without Leonard Fournette, we expect Jacksonville to take home this Week 4 win.
